Herman Witsius, “Sacred Dissertations on the Apostles’ Creed”

Herman Witsius (1636 – 1708), was an influential Dutch theologian and biblical scholar and was known for his work on covenant theology (federalism). In this important work, he lays out twenty six dissertations on that most ancient confession of faith: The Apostles’ Creed. Witsius shows that, far from being an innovation, the reformed faith is a recovery of biblical and patristic Christianity.
